About the event

The Winter Garden Heritage Foundation is inviting every West Orange County resident to answer that question through the lens of a camera, and share the images that tell their own American story. Launched in honor of the nation's 250th anniversary, this community-wide photo contest celebrates the everyday moments, familiar places, and quiet pride that make this corner of America truly special. From a golden sunset over a local lake, to a family gathered around a backyard grill, to a child waving a flag on Plant Street, America looks different to everyone, and that's exactly the point. We want to see your version of it.

How It Works

Submit an original photo along with one sentence explaining why it's meaningful to you. That's it. No professional experience needed, just a real image and the story behind it.

The Rules

  • Open to West Orange County residents only

  • Must be your own original photo

  • Beginner and non-professional photographers only

  • No stock or AI-generated images

  • Photo can be from any point in your lifetime

The Prize
